Northern Ireland lockdown extended to 5 March

DIA Insurance ADI News

The first and deputy ministers of Northern Ireland have announced that lockdown restrictions in Northern Ireland will be extended until 5 March.

Under these restrictions, driving instructors (except for motorcycles) are not permitted to operate.

Ministers were warned that restrictions may have to stay in place until after the Easter holidays.

Under the restrictions, people have been ordered to stay at home for all but essential reasons.

Schools are closed to most pupils until after February’s half-term but a paper looking at reopening will be put to ministers next week.

The lockdown came in response to a spike in the number of cases of coronavirus, which followed a relaxation of some rules in the run-up to Christmas.
