Concern over trainers displaying no badge

DIA Insurance ADI News

DVSA has been reviewing the statistics and performance of pupils presented in dual control cars with no PRN present and has found they typically have a lower pass rate.
The regulator will shortly be sending out a survey to selected ADIs, asking whether or not they remove their badges on test to try and understand their reasons for doing so.
DVSA has pointed to a particular issue with trainers involved in post test training not displaying badges (and potentially not being licensed to deliver driver training at all). This was being tackled by an initiative being carried out 43 police forces across the UK who are stopping training cars and asking to see an ADI/PDI certificates/licences as proof of compliance with the Road Traffic Act and licensing regulation.
This follows a number of incidents where blue lights training in particular was being delivered by trainers with no certificate.
